About this agreement

1. About This Agreement

At Zaap.ai, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, share, retain, and delete personal information that we receive from users of our website and services. Zaap.ai is a company based in the United States.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS AGREEMENT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE BY US IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION AT ANY TIME. When changes are made, we will make a new copy of the Agreement available on or through this site. Except as stated elsewhere or as required by law, court order, or otherwise (in which case, all amended terms shall be effective immediately and your continued use of the Platform signifies and will be deemed your assent to and acceptance of the revised Agreement), all amended terms shall automatically be effective thirty (30) days after they are initially posted.

When Zaap amends this Agreement, Zaap will make reasonable efforts to provide you with general, not specific, notice of such changes by posting an announcement on its site, and/or notifying you through electronic mail. Such announcement shall be maintained for no less than thirty (30) days following the effective date of such amendment. If you do not agree with the amended terms and, accordingly, the Agreement, please do not use the Platform any further. Nonetheless, we suggest that you regularly check this site to view the then-current Agreement. This Agreement may not be otherwise amended except in a writing hand signed by you and us. For purposes of this provision, a “writing” does not include an email message and a signature does not include an electronic signature.

2. Use of YouTube Services

Our platform uses YouTube API Services to display publicly available videos from a channel you choose to feature on your page. By using the platform, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You can find the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms.

We access only publicly available YouTube data, retrieved using a channel address that you enter yourself. We do not connect to your YouTube account, and we do not request, receive, or store YouTube account credentials or private YouTube data.

3. Use of Google Services and Limited Use of Google User Data

Zaap.ai’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically, we use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features you have connected. We do not use or transfer Google user data for:

  • Targeted, personalised, retargeted, or interest-based advertising
  • Sale to data brokers or information resellers
  • Determining credit-worthiness or for lending purposes
  • Building or enriching independent databases
  • Training or improving artificial intelligence or machine learning models, whether our own or those of any third party

Human beings do not read your Google user data except where we have your explicit consent, where it is necessary for security purposes or to comply with applicable law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymised.

4. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

We collect information that you provide to us, such as your name, email address, and phone number when you sign up for our services, along with the content you create on the platform, including your bio page, links, digital products, and email campaigns.

Information collected automatically

We collect information about your use of our services, including your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and pages viewed.

Payment information

Payments are processed by our third-party payment providers. We receive transaction records and limited billing details, but we do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.

Google user data

When you choose to connect a Google account, we access only the data covered by the permissions you approve on the Google consent screen. Depending on the features you enable, this is:

  • Your basic Google profile information: your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account ID, used to create your Zaap.ai account and to sign you in. Scopes: email, profile.
  • Your Google Calendar: used to check your availability when a customer views your booking times, and to create calendar events with Google Meet links when a customer books a meeting with you. Because creating an event requires write access, this permission allows us to both read and add events on your calendar. Scopes: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly.

We request the minimum permissions required for each feature, and we do not access any Google data outside the scopes you have approved. Connecting a Google account is optional; the calendar permission is requested only if you use booking or meeting products.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve our services
  • Display the content and connected accounts you have chosen to feature on your bio page
  • Communicate with you about your account, including service and security notices
  • Personalise your experience with our website and services
  • Send you promotional and marketing materials about Zaap.ai, which you can opt out of at any time
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations

Google user data is used solely to provide and improve the specific user-facing features you have connected, as described in Sections 3 and 4. We do not use Google user data for advertising or marketing purposes, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

6. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers

We share information with vendors who help us operate the platform, such as cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, customer support, and payment processing providers. These providers are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information in response to a valid legal request, or where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect our rights, the safety of users, or the security of the platform.

Business transfers

If Zaap.ai is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

With your direction

Content you publish on your bio page is public by design, and information you choose to share with a connected third-party service is shared at your direction.

We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the connected feature, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition in which the receiving party will continue to honour this Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, for example for tax, accounting, or legal compliance purposes.

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, and the content you create are retained while your account is active, and deleted within thirty (30) days of account deletion.
  • Google user data: your Google profile information and your Google Calendar data, accessed through the Google APIs, are retained only for as long as your Google account remains connected to Zaap.ai. If you disconnect your Google account or revoke our access, we delete the associated Google user data and the stored OAuth tokens from our active systems within thirty (30) days.
  • Usage and log data: IP address, browser and device information are retained for up to twelve (12) months, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
  • Encrypted backups: residual copies are purged in the normal backup rotation within ninety (90) days.

When the retention period for a given type of data expires, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it so that it can no longer be associated with you.

How to delete your data

You can delete your data at any time using any of the following methods:

Disconnect your Google account. Use the disconnect option in your Zaap.ai dashboard, or revoke Zaap.ai’s access directly at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. This immediately stops all further access and triggers deletion of the Google user data we hold, as described above.

Delete your Zaap.ai account. You can delete your account from your account settings, which removes your profile, published content, and associated personal data.

Email us. Send a deletion request to support@zaap.ai. We will verify your identity and complete the request within thirty (30) days.

You are not required to contact us in order to delete Google user data. You can revoke our access yourself at any time using the methods above.

We may retain a limited record of a deletion request, and any information we are legally required to keep, after your account has been deleted.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, and misuse. These measures include encryption of data in transit using TLS, encryption of data at rest, access controls that limit employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis, and secure storage of OAuth tokens. However, no security measures can provide one hundred percent protection. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please notify us immediately at support@zaap.ai.

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and other tracking technologies to enhance your experience with our website and services. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit our website. We use them to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how our website is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may impact your experience with our website and services. We do not use Google user data for any advertising or tracking purpose.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to certain processing, or to withdraw your consent. You can exercise most of these rights directly in your account settings, or by contacting us at support@zaap.ai. We will respond within thirty (30) days.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or by updating your notification preferences. We will still send you essential service and security messages relating to your account.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes to this Policy, or change how our app uses Google user data, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when this Policy was last revised.

12. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy, or if you would like to make a data access or deletion request, please contact us at support@zaap.ai.
